Pa Chang Vang
Pa Chang is a Human Factors Engineer with experience in medical devices, healthcare systems and product development. She brings a systems thinking approach shaped by her background in psychology, human‑centered design, and regulatory‑aligned usability engineering.
Pa Chang has worked with multiple cross-functional teams as a year-long Human Factors & User Experience Intern at Medtronic on their Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) team. She supported Class II/III medical device projects, facilitated formative usability evaluations and championed use error analysis and risk documentations. Previously, she conducted early user research as an Experience Design Research Intern at Highmark Health, engaging in product strategy and design thinking to identify business opportunities. Throughout her graduate studies, she led a 3-year long design research study to improve prototype evaluation processes such as concept and usability testing with stakeholders. She’s interested in risk mitigation through human factors design recommendations and usability testing.
Education
Pa Chang has a master’s degree in Human Factors & Ergonomics from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology (with a minor in Biology) from The College of Saint Scholastica. Her early intention to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy immersed her in patient care and clinical environments, shaping a perspective grounded in empathy, compassion, and an understanding of real‑world user needs.
